Commissioned by VORM Holding, The Kok Staalbouw has realized an entire additional floor on their existing office building “De Nieuwe Maaskant”. This 4th floor was transported in its entirety over the water to the Rotterdam Schiehaven by tugboat. Subsequently, this 700-ton floor was mounted on the existing office building. The 800 m2 glass and steel construction rests on four columns that support the weight. As a result, the enormous construction seems to “float” above the building.
