Project

De Bolder

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

‘De Bolder’, Mammoet van Seumeren's boulder-shaped head office, was built in record time under climate-controlled conditions, in the Grootint production hall in Zwijndrecht. In total, De Kok Staalbouw laid 3,750 m² of ComFlor 100 decking.

Despite a maximum span of 5.7 metres, a thin floor (170 mm) was achieved, with a weight of just 280 kg/m². Then the whole thing was shipped from Zwijndrecht to Schiedam, which required skill and nerves of steel. In total, the move took three days.

This construction method demonstrates that ‘plug and play’ is also possible for complete office buildings, and that extremely quick construction is possible, even at hard-to-reach building sites, on the water.
