For the expansion of the building complex of Air Traffic Control the Netherlands at Schiphol-Oost, De Kok Staalbouw took on the realization of the connecting bridge.
The connecting bridge, with a futuristic look, connects the new training centre with the existing building. We were involved in its design as part of a construction team.
The steel structure was delivered in two 25-metre sections and transported to Amsterdam on a pontoon. The two parts were then joined together on location to form a single unit. The entire bridge was turned and raised into position in one day. The essential part of the bridge is the steel column. The ‘tree structure’, including the four branches, consists entirely of steel laminations.
