Project

Protein Plant Sas van Gent

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

Biotechnologist ENOUGH is building the world’s first and largest ‘non-animal protein farm’, with a footprint of 15,000 m 2 , in the Dutch village of Sas van Gent.

Overall, the project involves a tonnage of about 600 tonnes. De Kok Staalbouw was responsible for the entire steel structure, pipe bridges, mezzanine floors, roof and wall cladding, rainwater drainage, and doors (including overhead doors).

The sustainable protein farm should be operational by the end of 2022, after which it will produce 10,000 tonnes of sustainable protein per year. The planning was a challenge but progressed very quickly, as did the assembly. It’s no surprise that De Kok was crowned ‘contractor of the month’ several times!
