The Dutch cable manufacturer ‘Twentsche Kabelfabriek’ (TKF) is building a new factory in Eemshaven in collaboration with Dura Vermeer, Friso Bouwgroep and De Kok Staalbouw,. Here they will produce power cables for the interconnections of offshore wind turbines.
Besides the various platforms, cable supports and other process-related constructions, the hall will contain some 3.000 tonnes of steel. In this project, De Kok Staalbouw is responsible for the entire steel structure, including the main and detailed engineering, roof and wall cladding.
The hall is scheduled for completion in September 2023. After this, De Kok Staalbouw will continue with the realization of the process-related constructions.
TKF expects to produce up to 1.200 km of cable per year with the arrival of the new production facility.
